Das neue Projekt von Id Software und John Carmack

Nachdem Quake mittlerweile schon bei der dritten Auflage Quake 3 Arena angekommen ist, wendet man sich bei Id Software nun einer Neuauflage von Doom zu. Hier ein Ausschnitt aus John Carmacks Plan File, in dem er weitere Informationen zum geplanten Spiel gibt.

We will talk about it when things are actually built, to avoid giving misleading comments.</blockquote></i>Demnach wird die DOOM Neuauflage auf den Single Player und nicht wie Q3A aufs Multiplayer-Modus ausgerichtet sein. Man jedoch erste Screenshots abwarten, bis man das Spiel in den Himmel lobt ... aber ein bisschen Euphorie ist schon angebracht, schließlich reden wir ja von Id Software.
