Durch den gestrigen Serverausfall, verursacht durch einen Hardwaredefekt, sind einige interessante Meldungen unter gegangen. So zum Beispiel auch die Ankündigung Intels, demnächst elf neue Mobil-Prozessoren auf den Markt zu bringen.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., September 16, 2002 -- Intel Corporation today announced 11 new mobile PC processors, including the Mobile Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor - M at 2.2 GHz, delivering high levels of performance for mainstream notebooks.

Today's introduction comes at a time when notebook adoption is on the rise. Intel provides a complete family of mobile processors that offer the right combination of high performance and low power consumption to meet the requirements of every notebook market segment. Intel's family of mobile PC processors offers consumers more choice by enabling PC makers to design notebooks of every shape and size.

The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor - M family of mobile processors offers great performance for full-size, thin-and-light and desktop-replacement notebooks. Notebooks using this processor can take advantage of processor-intensive usages and applications such as business multi-tasking, collaborative workgroups, video encoding, digital media and gaming.

The Mobile Intel® Pentium® III Processor - M enables PC makers to design sleek form factors offering good performance and great battery life. Intel also offers the Low Voltage and Ultra Low Voltage Mobile Intel Pentium III Processor - M, which are optimized for mini, sub-notebooks and Tablet PCs - the smallest systems offering extreme mobility. The Mobile Intel Pentium III Processors are ideal for the emerging Tablet PC market segment, as they provide the best balance of performance and low-power. Tablet PCs based on Intel mobile processors are expected to launch in Fall 2002.
