ATI bringt mobile Grafik auf Basis der Radeon 9600

ATi hat auf der CeBIT die nächste Generation seiner mobilen Grafikchips vorgestellt. Die Mobile Radeon 9600 wird in 3 Varianten auf den Markt kommen, gleichzeitig wird es eine Mobile Radeon 9200 geben, welche die erfolgreiche Radeon 9000 ersetzen soll.

Mit diesem Angebot liefert ATi das passende Gegenstück zu den von nVidia vorgestellten GeForce FX Go 5600/5200. Die neuen Mobile Radeon 9600 sollen bis zu 50% mehr Leistung bei gleichbleibendem Strombedarf bringen, was ja für Notebookbesitzer zählt. So kommt auf der Karte GDDR2-M Speicher zum Einsatz, welcher ähnlich DDRII ist, aber weitaus weniger Strom benötigt. Hergestellt in 0.13 Mikrometer Technologie verbraucht der Chip im Idle-Modus weniger als 0,5 Watt, bei einer benötigten Spannung von einem Volt. Ansonsten sind die Features des Mobile Chips identisch mit dem der Desktop Lösung. Hier ein Auszug aus der Pressemitteilung:

In addition to shipping both a standard and a feature and performance enhanced ‘PRO“ variant of the MOBILITY RADEON 9600, ATI will also begin shipping the MOBILITY RADEON 9200 mobile visual processor, which offers improved performance over the award-winning MOBILITY RADEON 9000, and includes support for AGP 8X.

Ab dem Frühjar werden die neuen Mobile Radeon in Notebooks verbaut. Partner zum Start sind Actebis, Alienware, Asus, Clevo, ECS, FIC, Fujitsu-Siemens, Gericom, HP, Medion, Media Markt, Mitac, NEC, Uniwill, und Voodoo PC.
