AMD und Founder mit strategischem Abkommen

AMD und Founder Technology haben ein strategisches Abkommen unterzeichnet. Demnach wird Founder in China ab Oktober 2006 Computersysteme mit AMD64-Prozessoren anbieten. Founder ist Chinas zweitgrößter PC-Hersteller und weltweit siebtgrößter Desktop-PCs-Hersteller.

Das Verkaufsabkommen zwischen AMD und Founder erstreckt sich zunächst auf Desktop-Computersysteme und soll in naher Zukunft auf Notebooks und Server ausgedeht werden. Laut den Marktforschern von IDC verkaufte Founder im Jahr 2005 rund 2,5 Millionen PCs in China.
