Intel products are allowed unless explicitly stated in the ILU
These foils should only be shared with customers on a need-to-know basis
[share only the product foils that apply to their purchases] limited to those
who have signed a CNDA with Intel. Intel direct customers (OEMs / ODMs /
Distis) may share with their customers only on the same “need-to-know
basis” and only if (1) the customer has signed a CNDA with them and (2) are
resellers whom Intel has authorized to receive pre-launch product supply.
Server / Workstation, Desktop, Mobile, & Intelligent
Systems Segments
Target Audience: Intel Field and Select OEM / ODM Customers

General Disclosure Guidelines
Intel Confidential -- CNDA Required
January 2013 ILU - Full Package
2
Initial Disclosure status exists until
item is added to the ILU
Initial Disclosure guidance typically
managed by Intel Technology
Leadership marketing or related
product marketing team
Intel would prefer customers not
reference their future products based
upon the targeted Intel products at
this early stage of disclosure
Acknowledgement of intent to utilize
/ support publicly disclosed future
Intel products is acceptable and, in
some cases, encouraged
What’s Public data maintained by
product owner or related product
marketing team, and/or the IR/PR
teams
Released
Initial Disclosure
Near-release Disclosure
Product Release Date
indicated in ILU
Transition marked
by inclusion in ILU
Near-release Disclosure guidance is maintained in the ILU
• All PR activities in advance of product release (including those under
CNDA or embargo) must be coordinated with & approved by Intel PR
• During this stage, unless otherwise stated, customers may…
– indicate their intent to use / support the future Intel product /
technology that has been publicly disclosed
– describe their related system family & SKU features to the same
level of detail as Intel public statements
– indicate their related system availability / timing to the same level
of detail as Intel public statements
– show their related system level price points, but not prices of
unreleased Intel ingredients nor delta’s between Intel SKU
offerings
– NOT sell (accept payment) nor deliver* products with unreleased
Intel ingredients to end users
• Additional guidance may be included in the ILU. For example:
– When OEMs may send and/or demonstrate systems functionality
and performance to press or public, acceptable hardware stepping
(ILU can specify Q-spec or S-spec); include an explicit restriction
(embargo) on stories / disclosure until a date specified in ILU or
product release date
– When OEMs may demonstrate to end customers their systems’
functionality and performance using production stepping hardware
(ILU can specify Q-spec or S-spec) including whether it is under
NDA until a date specified or whether it can be public information
• OEMs/ODMs/Distributors may ship production systems / boards to
authorized resellers 2-3 weeks before product release with prohibition
on sales and disclosure until “product release” date & time in ILU
(a.k.a. NDA channel stocking)
• Motherboards based on chipsets whose guidelines are covered in the
ILU are subject to the chipset guidelines
How to reference the product information will be updated each ILU
cycle, and occasionally mid cycle, depending upon events / timing
• Any other activities not explicitly approved in the ILU are NOT
ALLOWED unless Intel has formally approved directly outside the ILU.
* except in special circumstances with explicit permission from Intel (i.e.: an Intel approved / driven seed program)

Important ILU Terminology
Several dates are typically associated with new product disclosures &
ILU guidelines. Below are definitions for some select key terms.
Terminology
Definition
Product Introduction
Date
• Date when Intel publicly announces product pricing and availability worldwide to the
media and industry. Typically aligned to initial public sales / delivery timing.
Intel Activity/Timing
• Date when Intel starts its product introduction activities worldwide. Activities could vary
from events to web updates depending on launch type.
• This date only applies to Intel-led activities. Partner marketing and promotion
activities involving or geared toward consumer end-users must follow the on-
ad/advertising date.
• This date often aligns with Product Introduction Date but may be different.
Advertising
(a.k.a. on-ad date)
• Date when OxM/channel customers can start to advertise and promote systems with
Intel products (identified by Intel SKUs) to end-users.
• This includes all forms of advertising & promotion to end-users (i.e. print, online,
broadcast, social, retail, etc.)*
• This is typically aligned with a pricing/retail & channel cycle.
Sales, Shipments
• Date when our OxM/channel customers can start sales of systems with Intel products
to end-users.
• Presales or order taking from end-users are also considered sales hence not allowed
prior to the sales and shipment date.
• This date often aligns with the Advertising date but may be different.
Embargo
• A PR term to communicate when news can be published for the public.
• It does not indicate nor is tied to the date for advertising, sales, or shipment to end-
users (see definitions above)
• Lifting the “embargo” refers to the date when articles/blogs/reviews can be released to
the public. This is commonly aligned to the introduction date, but may be earlier. It
does not change or modify the “sales & shipment” date which remains as the primary
sales activity guideline.
