Thread:
Hello there,
So 2 days ago my ssd which is a crucial mx500 1tb drive died while my PC was turned on and under normal usage (watching YouTube videos). First of all to my PC specs if that helps.
Ryzen 9 3900x
Gigabyte g1 gaming 1070
32gb ddr4 ram corsair rgb pro
Gigabyte aorus elite x570 mainboard
Boot drive (system c drive) which died crucial mx500 1tb ssd
Work ssd Samsung Evo 860 2tb
Games ssd Samsung Evo 870 500gb
Video work ssd SanDisk... 120gb (not really important since it's not there to safe data permanent)
To go on with the problem. Like I said my boot drive (the crucial mx500) died under the normal usage of windows 10 I got a blue screen which said my pc ran into a problem and than it rebootet but hang up on a blackscreen with this _ loading. After that I rebootet by pressing ctrl alt delete and went into my bios with f12 there i looked up the io ports (no hdds or nvme drives are in my pc only ssds) and the worst thing that could probably happen came true my boot drive wasn t showing up anymore. After that I shut down my pc and tried some other io ports and also power cables of my psu but still no sign of the ssd in the bios I also tried disabling ahci mode and still nothing. After that is listened carefully and heard a strange hiss noise from my ssd and it was also warmer than usual so I Googled a bit and by now I assume that either the storage controller or some storage cells burned threw. Either way I ordered a new 500gb Samsung Evo 870 ssd but now we come to the main problem. In the other ssds are Programms games work files and pictures which I have also backed up but I don't have a backup for my boot drive which mainly had only windows on it and some pictures and Programms which arent from real importance. So if I would install win10 on my new ssd (which I ordered) from a boot able USB stick which I created with the mediatool from Microsoft would all the data of the other drives be overwritten or not accessible anymore since it's like a fresh install of windows 10 if yes is there a way to install win10 on the new ssd without losing the data from the other drives? I would appreciate every help I can get. Btw I am sorry for the kinda bad structure of this post and probably also some mistakes I wrote in regard to grammar. I was writing this on my phone.
