Debian 12.5 bootet nicht per SSH erreichbar

Habe ein kleines Problem mit meinem Pi-Hole. Habe von Debian 11 auf 12 aktualisiert und nun bootet die VM "nicht mehr" ich komme aber per SSH rein und es geht auch alles.

Ich sehe wenn ich dem VM-Viewer starte nur das:

und ein blinkender "_" statt dem üblichen "login:"

VM läuft auf meiner DS1621+ und dort ist auch alles aktuell.

Unklar, was du hier schreibst.

VM bootet nicht mehr. Und dann was mit SSH. Wohin der SSH, wenn die VM nicht bootet.
 
Wie gesagt es sieht so aus als ob die VM nicht bootet:

Ich komme aber mittels SSH rein und die VM ist hochgefahren. Auch mein Virtual Machine Manager sagt alles ok:

Die VM fährt also hoch aber es sieht so aus als ob sie es nicht tut.

Ist kein VMWare sondern Synology, aber ja qemu-guest-agent wurde aktualisiert und ist auf dem neusten Stand.

hm.
lass mal journalctl und dmesg mitlaufen und schau was rein kommt.
Wie macht Synology das? Ist das einfach virt-viewer, vnc, serial oder was anderes?

journalctl ist leider zu lang zum posten.

Edit: es ist aber nichts auffällig sieht wie ein normaler boot aus.
 
bei dmeg willst du einfach:
dmesg -wH (Farbig, scrollend und ordentlich lesbare Timestamps)
journalctl -fWeil follow
 
Mal dumm gefragt, hast du einfach mal enter gedrückt über VNC in der Konsole?
Denn wenn du über SSH reinkommst, ist der Boot definitiv durchgelaufen, laufen denn gewisse Dienste nicht, oder wie hast du das festgestellt?

Ja ich kann über VNC nichts machen. Strg+C, Enter, ESC nichts klappt.

Ich update immer über VNC nicht über SSH daher ist es mir aufgefallen. Nach 2-3 Min. dachte ich hmm das dauert lange... Internet bzw. DNS ging, also SSH probiert und das ging auch.

Ok nun geht es... Habe einmal von "vmvga" auf "vga" in den VM-Einstellungen umgestellt. Scheint also, dass "vmvga" wohl nicht mehr mit Debian 12 klappt.

Das Gastsystem versucht aus welchen Gründen auch immer vmwgfx zu nutzen, das ist der Grafiktreiber für VMWare. Das geht entsprechend schief, wenn der Spaß auf KVM laufen soll.

In /etc/defaults/grub die GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="3" setzen und ein update-grub mit Rootrechten folgen lassen mit anschließendem Neustart. Dann sollte das System booten, alle Services starten, aber grafisch nicht mehr hinbekommen als eine serielle Konsole.

Welche Parameter notwendig sind um die gfx-Treiber für Virtio zu erzwingen.. da kannst du so gut Suchen wie ich. Ich habe auch keine Ahnung.

Achso GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="3" sollte das Runlevel vom Kernel definieren.
