Firefox Portable Edition Update

Hallo

Kann man die Auto-Update FUnktion von Firefox auch in der Portable Edition nutzen?
Oder speichert der bei diesem Update etwas auf die Festplatte oder Regestrie?

Nein das bleibt immernoch alles auf dem Stick. Der macht nichts mit der Registry.

Um eine portable Version des Mozilla Firefox auf den neusten Stand zu bringen solltest du den integrierten Updater von Mozilla nicht verwenden. Du kannst einfach die neue Version des Firefox Portable runterladen und über den alten installieren, deine Daten (Lesezeiche, Einstellungen, etc) bleiben bestehen.

To upgrade to a newer version of Firefox Portable, just install a new copy of Firefox Portable right over your old one. All your data will be preserved. At this time, please don't use the auto-updater due to a bug. More information here.

If you're upgrading from Portable Firefox (older name and directories), make a copy of your existing profile folder within the PortableFirefox\Data\profile directory on your portable drive. Then download the new version of Firefox Portable and copy your profile from the old version into the new version within FirefoxPortable\Data\profile. If you added any plugins or searchplugins, you should copy those directories as well (PortableFirefox\plugins to FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins and PortableFirefox\firefox\searchplugins to FirefoxPortable\App\firefox\searchplugins).

Dh, NICHT die integrierte Updatefunktion verwenden.

EDIT: Der Vollständigkeit halber: Soweit ich weiß kann man sie durchaus benutzen ohne dass es zu schwerwiegenden Fehler kommt, allerdings würd ichs wie gesagt nicht empfehlen (so auch die PortableApps Seite).

benutz die autoupdate funktion!!!
profil und firefox sind NICHT im selben ordner... der autoupdater "weis" das es nich c:/programme is und schreibt sich "normal" über die alte version aufm stick!!!
beim nächsten start, startet er normal wie der installierte im pc auch -.-

auf portable apps.com kommt die neue version eh immer tage später *gähn*

wenn du weder warten willst noch den autoupdater nutzen willst kannste auch aus c:/programme den inhalt der firefox installation über die dateien aufm stick kopieren!
hab das auch gemacht als ff 3.06 noch nich über autoupdate ging, hab die vom pc in stick getan -> funzt wie auch nich anders zu erwarten wunderbar

edit: wenn man will kan man sogar den inhalt von dem profil (is versteckt) von firefox aus der pc installation in den ordner vom portable profil kopieren, dann haste da gleich auch die gleichen addons, einstellungen und lesezeichen wie in deim pc
(wenn ich das mache änder ich im portable nur den download pfad auf den stick damit das auch an anderen pcs nur auf mein stick geht, fertig)
