Hi dear users. I have had an problem today.

My pc:
10850K stock 4800mhz stock Kraken X73 good temps
2x16 GB DDR4 GSKILL 3000mhz XMP
Seasonic Tx-850 Ultra Titanium
Gigabyte Rtx 3090 Gaming OC
Aorus Z490 Pro Gaming
1 TB SSD

I bought machine and plugged in march 2021. No single issue,no reboots,no shutdowns. I played all games for many hours,no issues. Today…i launched Metro Exodus and after cinematic part pc just shutdown. I rebooted again and its fine again.

Happened when gpu load change from 0% to 99%.

My question is. It was psu issue or maybe other hardware?

I remember that when pc goes off ,pc case lights flickered once and monitor flickered. That not happens when i shutting down manually.

i am running now game and no shutdowns. Happened today once. Also i have pc until march 2021 and thats like today never happened.

Is psu going just bad,rma or what you recommend for me. Thank you

PS:I am not german, very sorry for my language.

Complete shutdown or crash to desktop/ freeze?

If the system was completely down without shutdown, PSU overload is most likely. Otherwise Software issues, hotspot temperature on GPU-Die among other possibilities.

Is this the first time or does this happen regularly?

Could be anything, crash2desktop is quiet normal for exodus with RTX.
Which Gskill ? AEGIS ?
Bios updated ?
IntelChipset driver from Intel website (latest one) ?
CAM from you NZXT is a pain in the .... could be a reason.
Any overlays active ?
Which case are you using ?
Single PSU Cable, not the splited ones, for each connector on the GPU ?

Yeap. Today was first time.Complete shutdown.
But that shutdown never happened in 6 months.
Not happened regularly.

Pc case is Cooler Master Cosmos CP700. I am using both separate pcie cables to gpu.

UV (undervolting) may be an option for your RTX.
Still remember the RTX and Exodus is not stable, still should not be reseting...
Please answer all questions - thx.

GSKILL 3200mhz XMP 1 <normal gskill F>
Using in background NZXT cam and Msi Afterburner.Bios is stock.

That shutdown happened today first time , i am using pc from march 2021. Thats weird......and i played Metro many many times without issue.

But now i tested pc again with games and no shutdown again.

The Intel chipset driver does not contain any one driver, only INF files.
If there are no unknown devices in the device manger, he does not need them.
And if, these are also available via Windows Update, under optional updates.
Always this overvaluation of the Intel chipset driver.

All things considered, I would be concerned if this failure could be reproduced or random shutdowns would at least happen regularity. As long as this is not the case, continue as usual.

The invest is quiet small, still helps sometimes - in my eyes worth a try.

Then go on as usual... if you can reproduce it, come back ;-)
