Monitor:AORUS AD27QD
Cpu: i7-9900K stock 4.7 with Noctua NH-D15
Gpu: Rtx 2080 Ti Aorus Xtreme Waterforce ( stock no oc,temps max 63C on load )
Ram: 32gb 2x16 GB DDR4 GSKILL 3000MHZ XMP
Psu: Seasonic Ultra Prime Titanium 850W
Monitor: AORUS AD27QD SSD: Crucial 1TB HDD: WB BLUE 1 TB
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P Hello.

I bought GPU in october 2019. All was super smooth, stable,no issues. I left many games running for hours without crash or restart. But............ Yesterday i left Metro Exodus when i go to work for 12 hours.
When i back to home game was still running, fine. But when i click EXIT to main menu, monitor goes black screen and game crashed with display driver crash.
After moment and after crash when i was on Windows 10 idle,pc restarted itself ( kernel 41 ). And now its fine again.

My question is GPU OR PSU get overheated ?

I clicked exit to main menu and it crashed to windows with display driver crash. Next issue. After crash i was in Windows 10 and out of the blue, after 2-3 minutes pc just restarted. So why pc restarted itself? PSU ?

ps: PSU is 2 months old.

Should i worry? Just simply. After 12 hours i clicked ESC and exit to main menu,it crashed to desktop with driver crash. And after 2-3 minutes system from desktop just restarted out of the blue. And now its fine again. Weird?!

Your Metro Exodus game was still running while you at work ?

Why would you do such a thing? You're just wasting power for nothing, why don't you just shut down your computer?

Have you tried a different driver version?
Maybe it's a bug.

And yes, please shut down your PC when you don't use it.
It saves power and your money.

Yes game was running .

I left game running by character standing on the same place for 12 hours. When i back to home i clicked ESC and exit to MAIN MENU and during that BLACK SCREEN and crash with TDR driver crash in event log. Then after 2-3 minutes Windows restarted itself without touching anything. ( EVENT said KERNEL POWER 41 ). No BSOD code.

Any ideas? Maybe psu is failing?

Idle crash pc restart -> try DDU and then install the Nvidia driver, this fixed my idle crashes (kernel 41).

Nah, a single crash or bluescreen is no reason for concern. Just ignore it and don't keep your machine powered without a valid reason while you are at work, especially if it is in a semi load state because a game is running, what a waste of money.

It's getting late... Anyway, everything is fine if you don't get more issues, probably a driver issue or the semi load state over half a day and sudden idle state resulted in a crash, who knows. It actually does smell or sound like a PSU issue but if it is working now... Check the system log, drivers and PSU if it keeps happening.

E: Would most likely not have happend if you powered the pc off like any rational and reasonable person would've done. ;^)

have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Maybe your PSU has a damage.
But with only one black screen it is hard do tell.

You said:" semi load state over half a day and sudden idle state resulted in a crash " So it was psu issue?

Could - should - maybe. See the edit:

tl;dr: Everything is fine if it doesn't keep happening.

Maybe should i try to replicate? I mean left game running for that long and check?

as explained above, uninstall your gpu driver with ddu (display driver uninstall) and reinstall it. then you can try to reproduce the problem. if it diesnt come back everything is fine. maybe its a failure by the game itself

Maybe should i try to replicate?
Why? Sounds like a waste of electricity to me. I'd do nothing if no more issues pop up.

I found some ( google ) with other issues problems. Few peoples get the same restarts after exiting other games and psu was faulty. Some psu rail etc.
Maybe it was my psu?

I checked in event logs. And it was FALSE/TRUE restart. Kernel 41 power. No BSOD.

I dont have any other psu :(

Bevor du ein neues Netzteil ausprobierst kannst du doch mal den Treiber mit DDU runterschmeißen und mal neu installieren. Ist zumindest ein Versuch Wert.
