Welche Multiformat-DVD-Brenner können das Booktype verändern ?

Hi Leute !

Ich würde gerne wissen welcher Multiformat DVD Brenner das Booktype verändern kann.
Ich weiß, dass der Sony dazu in der Lage ist und ich weiß das der Nec das prinzipiell nich kann.

Besonders interessiert mich das bei den 120€ Geräten von LG und Pioneer.

Und bevor jetzt alle anfangen zu meckern, dass ich bitte doch erstmal die Suchfunktion zu Rate ziehen sollte und gerade beim ersten Thread sone "was soll ich kaufen frage": Hab ich gemacht, kommen genau 3 einträge bei raus aus denen ich die infos von oben entnommen hab.

Ich würde mich über Antworten sehr freuen (am besten von Besitzern der entsprechenden Geräte, die müssens ja wissen)!!!

1. Gehört das zu 99& in das kaufberatungs Forum mal wieder.
2. Wenn der Nec das kann dann hol dir den Nec ist einer der beste Brenner aufem Markt nur der Plextor ist besser dafür auch viel teurer.

Also der LG GSA-4040B kann es schon mal nicht. Bei Pioneer weiß ich es nicht.

Er hat doch geschrieben, dass der NEC es nicht kann, warum soll er sich den dann kaufen?
Ich finde übrigens nicht, dass es ins Kaufberatungsforum gehört, es ist eine allgemeine Frage über Laufwerke, die meiner Meinung nach auch im richtigen Forum platziert ist.

Ich finde doch das es in die kaufberatung gehört weil es sich sehr stark danach anhört als ob er ein DVD Brenner kaufen will nur nicht weiß welchen.

Das kann ja sein, das er sich einen Brenner kaufen möchte, die Frage hat damit aber erst mal gar nichts zu tun.

Booktype ändern kann der nicht? Wirklich nicht?...

Was mich aber auch interessiert ist, wofür? Kann mir das mal jemand erklären (und Bubti auch)?

Hey, here I am back again. It took more time as expected to localize the book type settings of the NEC 1300A firmware. But now it's done:

NEC 1300A writes book type DVD-ROM on DVD+R(W)s!!!!

Here is the result of my research:

I have now a working firmware - I call it version 1.A8 - which burns all DVD+R(W) medias permanently with a DVD-ROM book type. Up to now I have tested several DVD+RW and DVD-RW medias. I have not tested DVD-R and DVD+R medias but it should no problem at all. The patch does not affect writing DVD-R(W)s, i. e. they are burned like the original firmware do with no difference.

I will send this piece of work to Herrie for more testing an releasing.

I found out that media compatibility depends not only on the book type record but also on the used media. Even though I can write and read several medias with my NEC, my DVD player (MBO 940 plus similar to the Mustek DV-562) does not accept some RW-discs.

With my firmware I burned a small video on the following medias and tested them on my player.

By the way there is no difference if the DVD-RWs are burned with the original firmware 1.08 or with my version 1.A8 - as I told above. All medias could be read with the NEC itself. I have no idea why some medias are not running on my player and others do. The best combination was Verbatim DVD+RW 43154 with DVD-ROM book type: fast burn and stable play.

On the other side my Tosh 1712 reads no DVD+RW at all irrespective of the book type setting. I think it should be patched .

Compatibility is only a word and unfortunately not the truth!!!!

Actually I planed writing a new firmware routine for changing the type for DVD+ discs on choice. But I think that makes no sense. If you prefer a DVD+ book type then you can use the original firmware .

Einige ältere DVD-Laufwerke können nicht mit DVD+R/+RW umgehen, wenn man aber den Booktype dahin gehend ändert, das die DVD+R/+RW als DVD-ROM erkannt wird, kommen viele Laufwerke besser damit zurecht.

Aha Und ich hab schon an meinem DVD LW rumgeflasht, weil es einfach keine +R(W) lesen wollte und es ist nur noch schlimmer geworden. Also die FW mit dem Booktree patch ist zwar fertig aber noch nicht released - soll aber noch in den nächsten Wochen passieren.
