Win 10 virtualisiert Host-System Linux: Hardwareempfehlung

Hallo Forum,

Such PC zum Programmiern (Delphi) und Web-Entwicklung. PC soll mit Linux laufen und Windows 10 Virtualisiert (für Delphi-entwicklung). Was für Hardware nimmt man da damit es einigermaßen flüssig läuft?

Minimum: 2 Kerne und 2-4 GB RAM
Besser: 4+ Kerne und 8 GB RAM

Der Host wird kaum Ansprüche haben, die VM kannst dann mit entsprechend viel Ressourcen geben. Bitte auch den Storage nicht vergessen: Wirklich Spaß macht's erst entsprechend mit einer SSD.
Auch da gilt: Ein schlankes Linux für den Host, braucht unter 20 GB, für die Windows VM kannst so locker 50 GB einplanen + den Speicher den du für deine Programme und Daten benötigst.

Wine, along with the operating system you use to run it, generally requires less disk space and memory than Windows itself. If you're not currently running a Windows application, Wine won't consume any resources at all other than about 20 megabytes of disk space.

Ideally, if an application runs fine in Windows, it should run fine on the same hardware using Wine, provided native drivers for your hardware are installed and equivalent to the Windows drivers. Open source Linux graphics drivers in particular are often inadequate to run games that work fine on the same hardware in Windows. If there is no native driver for your hardware, Wine will not be able to use it.

Beim Ryzen solltest Du darauf achten dass Dein Linux einen möglichst aktuellen Kernel nutzt. Wenn ich mich recht entsinne ging das mit 4.10 rum so los.
