Taipei, Taiwan, 14th April 2003 -- Gigabyte Technology, the leading motherboard manufacturer proudly unveils the new P4 Titan™ 875P series motherboards. The Gigabyte P4 Titan 875P series motherboards are the ultimate solutions for the latest processor supporting - 800MHz FSB Intel® Pentium® 4 processor with Hyper-Threading Technology. Powered by the Intel® highest performing 875P chipset and a multiplicity of cutting-edge technologies, the P4 Titan 875P series motherboards are designed to be full function server-oriented solutions with exceptional performance. The architecture of an 800MHz FSB, Dual Channel DDR 400, AGP 8x, and Performance Acceleration Technology (PAT) combine to provide a potential framework for excellent performance while Gigabyte's ground-breaking Dual Power System 2 (DPS 2) enhances computing power and system stability. It features with Intel® PRO series network connection that delivers optimized network throughput & platform performance, an Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI controller, Serial ATA, IEEE 1394, and IDE RAID are integrated to provide superior data input/output performance and data protection. The Gigabyte P4 Titan 875P series motherboards indisputably deliver to the uppermost platform unprecedented computing power and rock-solid stability.

In these new P4 Titan™ 875P series motherboards, it strongly follows the new product strategy - S.E.E.D, which was announced during Cebit 2003. The S.E.E.D concept describes the fulfilling of customers Satisfaction, providing Excellence products, Gigabyte unique technology Evolution and product Difference in this competitive market. Gigabyte Technology“s S.E.E.D concept is fully applied to the hardware design- The 6-Dual Miracle, as well as the software design - The Miracle of Xpress3 to ensure product reliability and stability to meet customers“ satisfaction. “Cultivating as farmers in field, Gigabyte“s engineering team sprinkle technology S.E.E.D in the industry, and hopefully grow them into successful and user-friendly products.“ Interpreted the S.E.E.D concept by Mr. Johnson Lin, General Manager of Gigabyte Technology PCBA Product Business Unit “I“m truly thrilled with Gigabyte Technology“s 6-Dual Miracle,“ he added. “It had gained lots of media awareness and most of all it positions Gigabyte“s motherboards ahead of others.“

The 6-Dual Miracle was first implemented on Intel E7205 based motherboard, GA-8INXP, with 6 key elements that totally revolutionized it while setting it apart from most of today“s motherboards The 1st element is represented by the Dual logical processor provided by the Intel® Hyper Threading Technology while the 2nd element was contributed by the Dual Channel DDR memory architecture. The 3rd element is the newly developed and innovative patented technology known as the Dual Power System (DPS) design, the 4th element comes from the Dual RAID interface which enhances data protection and performance. The 5th element is provided by the Dual Cooling System which greatly reduced the thermal issue, and the final element is Gigabyte“s patented DualBIOS™ technology which protects BIOS from virus attacks.“

Several leading technologies are also implemented on this new series, such as the revolutionary 800MHz FSB which delivers a supersonic high-speed bandwidth up to 6.4GB/s between the CPU and the MCH (Memory Controller Hub). Dual Channel DDR 400 memory architecture which bandwidth reaches up to 6.4GB/s, balancing data transfer loading among the CPU and memory. With the new advance Performance Acceleration Technology (PAT) and ECC (Error Coding Correction) memory support provides an extreme system performance.

With an array of advanced technology, the P4 Titan™ 875P series motherboards provide a revolutionary multimedia experience. Featuring AGP 8X (AGP 3.0), the new generation AGP interface that delivers 2.1GB/s of bandwidth to support the graphics workloads associated with an Intel Pentium 4 processor-based workstation-class platform. When paired with Gigabyte“s R9800Pro graphics card users will experience more realistic and fluidly rendered graphics. An on-board 6-channel AC“97 CODEC brings incredible sound quality especially with its S/PDIF-IN/OUT function that enables users to enjoy high quality audio. With new Jack-Sensing feature users won't have to worry about how to install speakers correctly.

In this P4 Titan™ 875P series the highest performance platform, GA-8KNXP Ultra, integrates with Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI, the latest generation in SCSI interface. It features an outstanding bandwidth of 320MB/s per channel, and a maximum bandwidth of 640MB/s in dual channel mode, an ideal solution for server-workstation platform. With the integration of Intel® PRO/1000 CT network connection, achieves 2X Gigabit performance through Communication Streaming Architecture (CSA) with the Intel® 82547EI Gigabit Ethernet Controller. CSA enables bi-directional Gigabit networking with higher performance and lower latency. The Intel® 82547EI Gigabit Ethernet Controller supports ASF 2.0, IPMI 1.5 and Advanced Pass Through to enhance authenticated remote management.

Also featuring in other 2 models in this new series, GA-8KNXP and GA-8IK1100, the integrated Silicon Image Serial-ATA interface which delivers high I/O bandwidth up to 150MB/s, bringing I/O peripherals to a new era in high-speed storage solutions. Highly anticipated Texas Instrument IEEE 1394 interface is also available; it enhances PC connectivity for consumer electronics A/V appliances, storage peripherals and portable devices. With onboard GigaRAID chipset, it provides RAID 0(Data Striping), RAID 1(Data Mirroring), RAID (0+1) and also JBOD function, delivering both data protection and data fetching performance to meet intensive applications demands.

Transparent to the user, the P4 Titan™ 875P series also provide several innovative features such as The Miracle of Xpress3 series software which includes 3 unique software features, 1) Xpress Install for easier driver installation, 2) Xpress BIOS Rescue for restoring BIOS back to its original stage if the BIOS is crashed. This feature will be available soon 3) Xpress Recovery, a revolutionary software feature that backup or restore system files thru BIOS function
