Notiz Detaillierte Eckdaten: Techpowerup startet umfangreiche SSD-Datenbank

Hi Gabriel,

I'm verry impressed!

First about your very helpful website. It does help me a lot. I'm not so experienced with SSD's and I am not so up to date about the models. I've tried to find information of size of pSLC Cache, write speed if pSLC is full and so on at the internet, but I've found only very little information
After discovering this thread and your website I've found this information. Thanks a lot!!!

Second: Thanks for your answer about the Cache folding speed. It was easy to read and easy to understand :daumen::daumen::daumen:

And third: It is unbelievable, that you have time to answer here questions and translate them from german to English etc. Thanks a lot :schluck:

I've just subscribed your YouTube channel techPowerUp to support you a little bit.

Best regards
Bernd

Thank you: D
It's the least i can do.
Since this database could not have been done without the help of regular users and reviewers.

P2 250gb is only specified there with TLC, so the TBW of the 250GB disk is actually as high as that of the 500GB with 150 TBW, the chances are good that it is TLC but according to micron support it is QLC, I asked because I had it on stingy installed in an Intel NUC, firmware is not yet listed on the micron website because no update is required, so everything is contradictory and a colorful grab bag.
Yes it is, there might be an QLC variant but the issue is that i couldn't find any data supporting it so i'd rather not create SSDs that " I think exist " but be based on actual data on SSDs that i've seen out there in reviews or forum's threads :D
I hope you understand

Well, as a simple system drive for a NUC with N6005, the part is enough, but it actually remains a grab bag.
Only that the 250 GB has the same TBW as the 500GB and also officially has a slightly higher write rate gives hope for the good. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

Otherwise, such a database is of course great.

Something like that used to exist for GPUs and CPUs, I've been out of it for a long time, but is it still maintained?
yes, it's constantly being updated, almost every day

There are many more ideas to be added for the future, like comparison webpages where you can compare drives side by side, it will be much more complex then the GPU and CPU Database so it will take a bit of time.
That would be really great. Was the first thing i tought when i opened the page "How do i compare that one to the other one now?"
While we're at it.... Feature Request: "Show Differences" highlighted or "hide same things"
Example from Digitec.ch

I'm not exactly sure which approach might be better...

True indeed but I intend to add all variants, just as an example, look for SX8200 in the search engine:
That is neat!
But how exactly do you know hich device you buy in the store if they have the same part Number?

You are awesome! Thanks a lot for all the replies and explanations even though you had to break through the language barrier.

btw, might be presumptuous of me but IMHO the "Reviews" block should be in the same Size as "Notes"
preferably even below Notes at the end of the Page. With a bigger Font.
it's almost drowing in the flood of technical details.

https://geizhals.de/?cat=hdssd
Ganze 32-Filter, da bleibt keine Eigenschaft ungeklärt.
Super zum vergleichen (nicht nur den Preis).

Or whether different variants are sold under the same name.
Exactly, we plan to add more data in the upcoming future, but in that website you won't find more technical data like NAND Flash Die specs if you're into that, i literally have Die datasheets with me here

Out of curiosity, how do you find out which variant you have?
If you already have the SSD in hands there are tools that you can use that read the Flash ID of the NAND FLash and controller, link below:
http://vlo.name:3000/ssdtool/

PS: My recommendation, if you're going to try it, leave the SSD you want to find out, as a secondary drive, eliminate all partitions and leave the drive without initialization (no MBR and no GPT) for better accuracy.
P.S.2.: For each controller there is a different tool, so make your you know which controller it is.
However if you don't have the SSD in hands an are buying online, i'm afraid you're out of luck. but if you can see the firmware revision of the SSD in the package you can nail it down to a few variants. Because some SSDs uses the same firwmare for different variants.

Eendlich!
