I had the same exact problem with the same intel chip, however here is the fix that worked for me;
Leave the box checked to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. It actually made the problem worse for me when I unchecked this box because the computer would not put the device back into "On" mode when coming out of sleep mode.

Open up the device manager for the AC 7260 and disable the U-APSD support found in the advanced options tab. I am pretty sure this will fix it, but I cannot remember if there were any other options I changed. My driver version is 17.1.0.19. Not sure if that is the most recent one now. Let me know if this works.
