PC ist alt aber zuverlässig - daher Aufrüsten statt neu kaufen

Hi,

ich rüste meinen alten PC auf da sich grad noch kein neuer ausgeht und ich mit der Leistung für meine Zwecke (Audio Recording & Bearbeitung, etc) im Grunde sehr zufrieden bin.

Hab das ganze System ausgelesen, das Ergebnis findet ihr unten in rot (sorry für den Roman, formatierte Version als Anhang). Laut den Specs habe ich bis jetzt folgende Artikel zum Kauf ins Auge gefasst. Könnt ihr mir bitte sagen ob die ausgesuchten Artikel mit meinem System kompatibel sind und vor allem ob Sie etwas taugen und eine klare Kaufempfehlung oder nur Schrott sind. Eventuell habt ihr Ideen für andere/bessere Produkte zu denen ihr mir raten könnt...

-Solle dein Mainboard kaputt gehen, wird es teuer...
-USB 3.0 als Erweiterungskarte machte gerade in Gigabyte Mainboards eine Menge Ärger.
-8GB DDR2 RAM ist sehr teuer...


Wenn Du was zuverlässiges suchst kannst du ja einen gebrauchten Business Rechner wie einen Dell Optiplex 9020 kaufen.
Gibt es mit i5 (doppelt so schnell wie dein aktueller) USB 3.0 und 8GB RAM für ~300 EUR.


Warum sammelst Du eigentlich alte Java Versionen auf deinem PC? Magst du Sicherheitslücken so gerne?

Es wird sich nicht lohnen, Geld in so ein altes System zu investieren. Das System sollte um die 10 jahre auf dem Buckel haben... Zudem sind deine Ramslots voll. du müsstest also in 4x4 GB invesiteren oder in 2x 16 GB.

Budget ist um den Dreh das, was mich die aufgelisteten Teile kosten würden, also so um die 400 - 500 Euronen.

der dell optiplex sieht sehr guat aus, würd glaub ich mehr sinn machen so etwas zu kaufen. allerdings bin müsste ich dann die festplatten noch erweitern, wär dann halt rund 100€ mehr als veranschlagt.

bzgl java, wie gesagt, ich kenn mich nicht so aus. wie behebe ich die fehler?

Und falls die alten Versionen dann immer noch da sind, kann man auch deinstallieren.

Angenommen ich bestell den dell optiplex, welche welche festplatten mit welcher gröse kann ich in dieses system einbauen, zu was würdet ihr mir raten?

Nun ja. Du kannst da die gleichen Festplatten einbauen wie bei deinem jetzigen PC, also jede Festplatte. Beide Systeme unterstützen SATA II.
Dein System hat lediglich die Einschränkung, dass du von großen Platten über 2TB nur booten kannst, wenn sie auf 2TB begrenzt werden, weil dein Board kein UEFI hat und nur von MBR booten kann. Das OS installiert man ja aber im Normalfall auf eine SSD.
Datenplatten kannst du jede Größe nutzen, Bedingung ist lediglich GPT Initialisierung bei mehr als 2TB. Desweiteren solltest du bei deinem Rechner den Standard AHCI Treiber von MS verwenden und nicht den Intel RST. Könnte sein, dass das Bios nicht die volle Kapazität erkennt, maßgebend ist in dem Fall aber nur, was bei Windows rauskommt.

An sich würde ich mir überlegen, ob ein Neukauf nötig ist, wenn dich nur die Festplattenkapazität drückt.
Die Frage für mich wäre hier dann primär, scheitert es an den 8GB RAM und brauche ich unbedingt mehr.
Ein gebrauchter DELL mit 8GB könnte auch mit 4x2GB bestückt sein, was einen Neukauf von 16GB DDR3 nötig macht(+1xx €).

Als Fazit würde ich mir erstmal eine SSD+HDD(in der gewünschten Größe) anschaffen und die am jetzigen System ausprobieren. Die willst du ja in jedem Fall kaufen.

Zuletzt stünde auch noch die Möglichkeit im Raum, deinen Q9550 zu übertakten. Eine Frage des Willens und Talents, sich damit näher zu beschäftigen, inwieweit da was geht und ob sich mehr CPU Leistung lohnt.

Bei 500€ Budget würde ich lieber einen neuen Rechner aufbauen, z.B. den aus der Empfehlung hier für 450€

Die Grafikkarte weglassen (die integrierte der CPU sollte reichen) und das gesparte Geld in SSD / HDD stecken. Die 8GB RAM durch 16GB ersetzen.
