ich habe mir ein WD MyBook 8TB zugelegt, nach zwei Stunden Idle Betrieb (exFAT formatiert geliefert) hat sie eine Temperatur von 54°C.
Ich frage mich nun, falls ich sie als NAS-Festplatte in meinem alten HP ProLiant MicroServer N40L 2x 1,50GHz mit FreeNAS und ZFS betreiben sollte, ob ich a) den 3. Pin des power connectors isolieren muss, oder ob die SATA-Bays des HP microserver den sowieso auslassen und b) ob die Platte außerhalb des MyBook-Gehäuses und in dem HP-microserver wohl unter 65°C bleiben würden, was smartctl als höchste zu empfehlende Temperatur angibt (70° C + ist wohl nicht zuträglich).
