Warum geht kein 2400+ in nem KT266A?

Servus,
könnt ihr mir bitte mal sagen warum in meinem K7T266 Pro2-RU (IDE RAID) maximal ein 2100+ gehen soll?

geht schon höher, aber um nen throughbred rauf zu machen (>2100) musst du das board ein bissel "modden "
(palomino geht so, geht aber bloss bis 2100 ...)

EPOX ist gut

Da lob ich mir doch mein Epox 8KHA+ (KT266A). Da geht jetzt alles bis zum 2800+ (Thouroghbred)

Das Pro2 von DvP hat auch den KT266A - von daher müßte es gehen.
Ich habe ein Board aus der gleichen Baureihe, nur ohne "RU", also kein RAID und kein USB 2.0.
Da ich nur einen XP1700+ darauf betreibe, habe ich mir über diese Grenzen noch keine Gedanken gemacht, aber vom Chipsatz her sollte es kein Problem darstellen. Da muß vielleicht nur ein neues Bios drauf (Spekulation).

Jo danke, jetzt kann ich mir in Ruhe einen 2400+ um 70€ kaufen Brauche ja nur einen Wiederstand herausbröseln.

Kann ich einen 2400+ einfach als 2000+ einstellen und dann einfach übertakten, ohne dass ich den Wiederstand herausbrechen muss, denn das ist mir doch etwas unangenehm. Hab mein Board langsam lieben gelernt

Nein.
Es kommt nicht auf den Takt an. Entscheidend ist, das auf dem Board ohne die Modifikation nur Palominos laufen und keine Througbreds.

Nein ohne Modifikation keine chance, hab ich leider selber erlebt, weil der Througbred ne andere Spannung braucht, deshalb auch den Widerstand "rausbröseln"

Also bei mir läuft eine solche Konstilation völlig problemlos, habe zwar ein Abit-Board, aber das ist belanglos.
Offiziell unterstützt das Bios meines Boards auch nur eine CPU bis 2100+, wem juckt´s?
Nur weil im Bios keine höhere PR-Werte eingeschrieben sind, soll ich mir gleich ein neues Board kaufen?

leider ja, hatte mir nen XP2400+ gekauft und nix ging, das board gab keinen mucks von sich, keine Lüfter gingen an, rein gar nix, hab ja das selbe Board wie Du, nur ohne Raid/USB 2.0, bei XP2100+ is da leider schluss

hier die Anleitung:
Hi there,

The mod is fairly simple, place the board like this:

PCI-Slots down and CPU socket up.
Locate the 3 big condensators between the PSU-connector and the CPU-socket.
If you look at the top condensator of the 3, a little bit to the right is an SMD-mounted
condensator called C37.
Remove this C37 and your board is ready to support the XP-2200+

You do lose warranty and it's totaly on your own risk! Also don't post this on the
forum, MSI doesn't like that and we might risk future support like this.
It's also forbidden you send this to anyone, please direct them to me to get the mod
and the BIOS.

I have not tested this myself as I don't have an XP-2200+, I have tested the BIOS.
Also, don't bother MSI if anything goes wrong, cantact me in case of trouble, I might
help you, but not with RMA or other stuff!
