12900K and Rtx 4090 low usage on Far Cry 6

Hi. I have 12900K stock

32 GB 2x16 GB DDR4 3600mhz

Palit Gamerock Pro OC rtx 4090

1300W Seasonic Platinum Prime

Aorus Elite DDR4 Z690

Windows 11 2H22. Updated new nvidia drivers.

I swapped from 3090 Ti Gigabyte Gaming to Rtx 4090 Palit Gamerock.

I have an question about Far Cry 6. So on 3090 ti on 1440P,DXR ON i had 80-90% gpu usage.

On Rtx 4090 Palit i have now 60% usage and fps is the same like on 3090 ti.

I compare my fps with someone with 12900K and 4090 and he have 80-85% usage. So why i have 60% usage? The same cpu 12900K.

Easy task. You were in CPU-Limit with your 3090 allready, you`re still in CPU-limit with your 4090.

To Compare with a different PC, video here, you must have exactly the same settings -in every little detail.

Did you enable XMP for the RAM?
You're in a CPU Limit. The video you linked has the CPU overclocked and much faster RAM, so their CPU can push higher framerate than yours.

GPU usage <99% means you're in a CPU Limit (or have enabled a framerate cap/limit). So look at your CPU and RAM, those are likely configured differently than the system in the video.

Also he could have less background task while you have 100 windows opened.
You could also have an framelimiter on.

There can be multiple reasons. You got the fps you want? Then theres noproblem.

It literally doesn't matter. There are multiple possible factors at hand and there would be no benefit to figure out why he has a slightly higher GPU usage. Evidently, your FPS staying the same when switching to a better GPU means you are in a CPU Limit. You can switch to 4k and possibly have the same FPS or maybe try to increase graphical fidelity (settings/downsampling). Do you have high-res textures installed?

Oh no, DDR5 boosts Fry Cry Performance alot !

Means more workload for the 4090

The other guys 4090 Runs slower, hence the usage is higher :-)

I suggest changing to next higher Resolution Monitor (Time for 4k Display) and/or usage of DLDSR for More gpu usage, because this seems to be the Most horribly problem there Is.

It's not v-sync or any kind of throttling/bottleneck.

I suggest again to crank the Image-Quality up.
Its not a hardware-Problem you have.

I have it in my hands.

If you have 250 fps, and the GPU is only 50% load, than you have a CPU, which can not produce a higher framerate (CPU-Limit/Bottleneck) or you are unable to find the right settings for higher image Quality (User-Limit/Bottleneck).

It's not v-sync or any kind of throttling/bottleneck.

If you have no bottleneck, than you should have infinite FPS.
Ups .. impossible?
So there must be a bottleneck.
Its as easy as this.

And Enabling Legacy-Modus in Bios and Press "Scroll/Lock" to disable e-cores on the fly ingame to verify takes up to 2 Minutes.

Can you pls run the FC6-Benchmark and post a Screen.
If you want to verify your whole System because of GENERAL Faulty building please post:

Takes you two Minutes to verify.
If you have a UEFI with Legacy-Modus for e-Cores. Enable it. Than you can enable/disable e-Cores INGAME by pressing Scroll/Lock.
If you do not have. Just disable ecores in Bios. Takes no time. Makes you knowing more.

I will look it up too. But takes time, I have to finish a F@H WU before.
