BIOS/UEFI Einstellungen bei versch. Systemen auf Wechsellaufwerken

Hallo,

ich habe einen Desktop mit 2 Wechsellaufwerken die man auf Knopfdruck aktivieren/deaktivieren kann.
Einfach nur das gewünschte System rein, alles andere deaktiviert und der Rechner bootet ohne dass ich was einstellen muss direkt in das System was er vorfindet.
Darauf laufen problemlos ALLE Systeme autark auf eigenen Platten von xp über diverse win bis diverse Linux, auch vom Livestick booten keine Probleme.
Ist aber bei mir wg. XP noch nicht als UEFI konfiguriert,obwohl UEFI fähig. Board von Asrock.


Ich wollte das bei meinem Freund genau so machen. Board von MSI und AMD-Prozessor.
Hatte bei Ihm aber alles auf UEFI installiert. Z.Zt. 1x Win7 und ein Linux Mint 19.3.
Von Anfang an hatten wir Probleme beim Linux.
Wenn ich nur die Win7 Platte aktiviere läuft es sauber hoch.
Das Linux ging nur mit viel F11 beim Start und etwas Glück.....dann startet direkt das System ohne Auswahl.
Auch ein Linux Live Stick lässt sich nicht problemlos betreiben......mal ging es, dann wieder nicht.
Ich bin sicher, dass es an den BIOS Einstellungen liegt, finde aber den Fehler nicht.
Bei Installation war immer nur die betreffende Platte drin.

Ich kann nicht einmal genau sagen was bei mir außer dass es nicht im UEFI Modus läuft anders eingestellt ist, denn wenn ich meinen Rechner hochfahre zeigt er mir ja in der Bootreihenfolge immer nur das aktuell eigelegte System an und zwar jeweils immer auf Position 1-sonst nix.
Ich bekomme das aber auf dem anderen PC so nicht hin.
Muss ich da doch ne BIOS (MBR) Installation machen?
Hat jemand ne Idee an welchen Einstellungen es sonst liegen könnte?
Es gibt doch auch Leute die ne Konfiguration unter UEFI mit Wechsellaufwerken betreiben.....wie machen die das?

Aber das erklärt immer noch nicht warum das unter UEFI bei Win7 funktioniert und bei Linux nicht.
Linux wurde m.M. nach ordentlich installiert und ich hoffe auch fehlerfrei (habe schon einige Linux Installationen gemacht-laufen alle rund bis auf diese....)

Ich will mich morgen nochmal über den PC von meinem Freund hermachen und vielleicht hat mir jemand die zündende Idee wie ich das löse? Neuinstallation kein Problem! Ist nur nervig die ganzen Proggis im Win7 wieder zu installieren:grr:
Habe mir jetzt mal die Win7 Iso und die Linux Mint20 mit Kernel 5.8 für ne MBR-Installation vorbereitet.

PS: Bitte nicht schimpfen wg. XP und Win7-das hat Software-Gründe und die gehen nicht online!
Wir haben einige Programme die wirklich nur noch unter Win7 laufen-Update wollen wir aus Kostengründen nicht (manches ließe sich auch gar nicht updaten-läuft aber so prima und tut seinen Zweck).
Deshalb auch autark auf eigener Platte.
Virtuelle Maschine ist hier keine Option wg. Audio-Bearbeitung/Recording:D (Latenzen etc....)
 
Beim Uefi werden die Bootmanager Einträge ins Bios geschrieben, es gibt auch buggy Bios, die nur mit einem einzelnen eingetragenen System klarkommen. Ich vermute mal, dass das Bios nicht damit klar kommt, dass es immer wieder der selbe Sata Slot/Stecker ist.
Beim Legacy Mode/CSM also nicht Uefi wäre das so, dass man im Bios eben einfach einen bestimmten Anschluss festlegt bei dem nach einem Bootbaren Systen gesucht wird wie du es bei dir hast, das ist "dumm" dem ist es egal was dahinter steckt. Uefi ist da schon etwas anders.

Auf Legacy/CSM umstellen dürfte das einfachste sein um das wieder umzusetzen.

Ich selbst hatte ne zeit lang Windows 10 und Linux parallel mit UEFI, jetzt aber nurnoch Linux. Jedenfalls solange die Platten wie bei mir immer drin sind sollte das problemloß auch gehen mit UEFI wenn das Bios in Ordnung ist und keinen Bug hat.
 
Danke Dir, dann hab ich ja wohl eine gute Chance das im BIOS/MBR Modus hinzubekommen.
Ich setze grad meine ganze Hoffnung darauf;)

Allerdings ist die Situation bei meinem Freund z.Zt. noch anders als von Dir beschrieben:
HDD 1 =Linux
SSD 2 = Win7

Stecken beide in Wechsellaufwerken, die per Knopfdruck deaktiviert werden können, werden also physisch nicht gewechselt sondern nur umgeschaltet.
D.h. die Anschlussposition verändert sich (so lange keine weiteren Systeme dazu kommen) nicht.
Es ist beim Systemstart aber immer nur eine Platte angeschaltet.
Dadurch sind die beide Systeme völlig autark und haben gegenseitig null Zugriff.
Oder eben beide AUS wenn man per Live-Stick rein geht.

Bei mir ist es aber nicht ein Anschluss sondern zwei (mit USB sogar 3 Anschlüsse im Wechsel)......weiß echt nicht wie ich das ursprünglich eingestellt hatte.
In meinem BIOS zeigt er mir das einfach nicht an weil nur 1 System aktiv ist und da kann ich dann auch nur dieses einstellen.
Oder setze ich nur 1 Platte aktiv (aber welchen Anschluss? Oder nimmt der einfach den der grade aktiv ist?) und USB auf 2.?
Bootet der dann einfach von dem was er findet?

Dann würde er genau machen was ich will und ich kann das bei meinem Freund so einstellen.

Kann ich bestätigen, habe auf dem Notebook Win7 und Win10 auch auf zwei Platten mit UEFI- da läuft alles wie es soll und ich muss halt beim Start auswählen bzw. hab ein Favorit der durchstartet.

Im Legacy/CSM modus kannst du dann normalerweise die Einstellung nutzen für die Reihenfolge in der auf den Laufwerken/Datenträgern nach Bootbaren Medien gesucht werden soll. Gerne ist es so, dass man verschiedene Typen angeben kann (USB/Festplatte/netzwerk/etc) und dann auch für Festplatten ggf noch die Anschlüsse/gefundenen Geräte. Kommt auch etwas auf die Möglichkeiten des Bios an. Im Retail Markt gekaufte haben normalerweise gute Optionen. So Mainboards von Komplett PC's von ALDI oder ähnlichen sind dagegen gerne mal sehr eingeschränkt.
 
OK- dann werd ich das so probieren irgendwie hatte ich auch sowas in der Art im Hinterkopf aber hab grad schon viereckige Augen vom suchen:D
Ich muss mir das morgen erst nochmal genau anschauen- das BIOS da hat mich schon letztes Mal ganz kirre gemacht.Möglich dass der noch Optionen "unter der Haube" hat, wollte aber kein BIOS PW setzen.....
Muss dazu sagen dass vor dem Einbau des Wechselrahmens(mit Win7) und der Umstellung auf UEFI schon 3 jahre Linux problemlos auf dem PC lief, hatte ich damals auch installiert.
Weiß nicht welcher Teufel mich geritten hat das auf UEFI umzustellen-war wohl die Faulheit weil ich grade den Win7 Stick von meiner UEFI Notebook-Installation parat hatte (keine Sorge-natürlich hab ich nen 2. Lizenzkey).
Hatte nicht erwartet mir da solche Probleme einzuhandeln.

Aber irgendwie trotzdem unlogisch-hatte das oben schon mal gefragt- es gibt ja kaum noch BIOS, wird ja alles umgestellt auf UEFI bei den neuen Geräten-wie machen das jetzt andere mit den Wechsellaufwerken?
Würd mich schon mal interessieren.....

Hi nochmal,
nachdem ich gestern den kompletten Tag damit verbracht habe und es nicht geschafft habe ein Linux Mint so zu installieren, dass es sauber hochfährt, brauch ich wirklich nochmal Hilfe.

Komisch:
Der Win7 Stick läuft sauber zur Installation an-habe aber erstmal abgebrochen, war nur ein Test.

Sämtliche Linux Live Sticks (verschiedene Konfigurationen, UEFI oder alte BIOS Variante) wahlweise mit Rufus, Etcher oder linuxeigenem Werkzeug geschrieben lassen sich nicht sauber starten.
Im BIOS/UEFI habe ich alle Varianten durchprobiert.Sowohl als UEFI als auch im Legacy Mode(es bietet aber nur UEFI+Legacy an)
Es bietet auch einen Reset an(im Menü)der mich aber nicht weiter bringt, weiß nicht ob das einem Reset per Jumper gleich gestellt ist, das hab ich jetzt noch nicht probiert).
Ich kann die Sticks nur mit viel Glück und ohne wirklich den exakten Ablauf reproduzieren zu können mit "rumhämmern auf F11" direkt nachdem das 2. mal das BIOS-Startbild gezeigt wird starten.
Wenn ich einmal im Live-Modus drin bin kann ich sauber installieren.
Auch eine Bearbeitung mit GParted (konfigurieren/löschen) des installierten Systems ist problemlos möglich.
Heute ist es mir ein Mal gelungen den Stick im abgesicherten Modus auf Anhieb hochzubooten und dann davon zu installieren.
Aaaber:
Beim Start des Systems das gleiche Problem wie fast immer bei den Sticks-entweder hänge ich in einer grub2 Schleife fest

Und mit ganz viel Glück komme ich aus der Schleife wieder raus wenn ich nach ENTER auf der F11 Taste rumhämmere und das Linux startet, oder ich lande wieder im BIOS (das eigentlich mit F11 aufgerufen wird).

Wo ist der Fehler??????
Wo kann ich suchen?
Wenn gewünscht kann ich noch Screenshots von den Partitionierungen(sind verschiedene und von 2 Linux-Versionen, 20 und 19.3) der zwischenzeitlich testhalber installierten Linuxe hochladen falls das hilft.
Habe manchmal eifach automatisch installiert-auch mal manuell partitioniert.

Das Problem dass Linux nicht durchstartet-egal ob Stick oder installiert, ist erst nach dem Einbau der Wechselrahmen entstanden! Inzwischen ist egal was ich im BIOS/UEFI einstelle.
Ich habe auf meinem PC 2x exakt den gleichen Rahmen verbaut und null Probleme damit.
Warum läuft es auf diesem PC bei Win7 und bei Linux nicht? Mir gehen die Ideen aus......
Als ich das vorhandene Win7 auf der 2. Platte (SSD,anderer Wechselrahmen) per Linux-Live Stick löschen wollte ist ebenfalls erst mal der Stick gar nicht hochgefahren sondern das Win7! Obwohl es im BIOS anders von mir eingestellt wurde!
Habs dann irgendwann beim 5./6. Versuch doch hinbekommen (s. F11 Taste...).

WTF ist da los????????
Hatte so ein Problem noch nie.....

PS: Heute bin ich noch komplett (auch am Abend)bei meinem Freund und habe Zugriff auf den PC falls benötigt. Das Board ist ein MSI A68HM-P33.

PPS: Ich habe BIOS/UEFI natürlich immer im Mode des jeweils erstellten Livesticks eingestellt.
Alle Varianten durchprobiert....

heißt das der Installiert grub wird gefunden, der findet dann aber nicht das linux um es zu starten oder wird noch mehr angezeigt?

Die ersten beiden Bilder sehen ja aus wie von einem Installierten Grub der dann Linux aufrufen würde wenn er es denn findet, wo es installiert wurde.

Und das zweite ist nur vom usb Stick oder?

Was ist das eigendlich für ein Rechner, ist der gerade neu? da könnte dann evtl auch helfen wenn es eine Inkompatibilität gibt ein Brandneues Linux zu nutzen das die neuesten Treiber etc dabei hat. evtl Manjaro oder Arch, was gerade ganz frisch rausgekommen ist mit möglichst neuem Kernel.

So wie es sich anhört findet aber ja schon grub dann nicht die Festplatte mit Linux?

Wenn du dich gut auskennst könntest du ein chroot mit usb stick ins installierte system machen und die letzten log meldungen auslesen mit journalctl -r was da evtl zu finden ist

Nachdem ich jetzt nochmal ewig rumprobiert habe:
Ich komme sowohl bei dem Livestick als auch im grade installierten Linux wenn ich im Grub2 bin nur im abgesicherten Modus (also mit Umweg) ins System!
D.h. ich komme rein aber nicht normal.

Habe jetzt spaßeshalber mal mit Rescatux versucht ob ich da was am installierten Linux "reparieren" kann um meinem Freund wenigstens EIN funktionierendes System auf seinem PC zu hinterlassen-no way.....geht nix.
Rescatux meldet er hätte Grub repariert-keine Änderung:grr:

Witzigerweise startet Rescatux einwandfrei-das muss ich jetzt nicht verstehen.
Ich hab vom Rescatux ein paar Screenshots gemacht-falls jemand was damit anfangen kann lad ich da gerne was hoch.Blicke nicht durch wo der seine Logs hin verfrachtet....angeblich kann man die irgendwo abrufen....

Sitze grade am laufenden Linux und bin damit online-da Du Dich mit Linux auskennst-kann ich Dir etwas nachschauen was weiterhilft?
Bin aber "Konsolen-Analphabet"......

Sorry-befürchte das schaff ich nicht-also mit Stick ins installierte System komm ich schon aber bei Konsole bin ich ohne "Händchenhalten" raus....
Linux ist das neueste Mint20 mit Kernel 5.8!
Hatte nur zwischendrin auch mit 19.3 rumprobiert....

und dann mal model name hergeben :-)
oder wenn du so die cpu weißt so reinschreiben.
uname -r in der konsole und die kernelversion sollte hingeschrieben werden.
weißt du welche grafikkarte verbaut ist?
lspci | grep -i vga

dann gibt es ja auch nurnoch einen neueren kernel, den 5.9er. der 5.8er ist ja quasi schon brandneu.
also wenn du ja im abgesicherten modus reinkommst, dann kannst du da ja "journalctl -r aufrufen und schauen was da so für meldungen kommen.

mich würde noch interessieren was in der grub.conf steht
sudo cat /boot/grub/grub.cfg

denn in der session wo du bist, da wurde der kernel wohl mit nomodeset gebootet. Nun weiß ich nicht ob das nur wegen dem abgesicherten Modus ist. laut der info ist damit ja wohl der grakatreiber deaktiviert.
in der grub.cfg kann man das ja ablesen wie der aufgerufen werden würde.

Ich denke es wäre auch gut, wenn diese langen texte in so ein "code" baustein gepackt werden, dass man die sich selber aufklappt und das nicht soo lang gescrollt werden muss, wenn man die nicht öffnen möchte (für andere)

unter dem symbol "..." da klappt ein menü auf mir code unter anderem

wenn normal gestartet wird, dann wird nomodeset nicht gesetzt, das ist ja eigendlich dann in ordnung, das ist also nur wegen dem abgesicherten Modus.
