NVIDIA has silently been working on their next-generation GeForce graphics cards and while we have seen the boards that would power the upcoming series, we still don’t have a confirmation regarding the naming convention of the new gaming lineup. However, if AdoredTV’s source is to be believed, then we are looking forward to an entirely new naming convention in which NVIDIA will be dropping their iconic “GTX” branding.

So the post is nothing more than a rumor but given the latest NVIDIA trademarks, the new naming convention might just make sense to be introduced with the upcoming GeForce lineup. Recently, a couple of new names were trademarked by NVIDIA which include Quadro RTX, GeForce RTX and a range of VR names which references back to their Virtual Link technology that is expected to intro on the upcoming lineup.

Aber wieso denn warten .... wenn alle möglichen 'RTX' Infos allmählich durchsickern?

During SIGGRAPH all major VFX render engines are at NVIDIA's booth to announce they will leverage RTX via OptiX for future blockbuster movies

The big thing about this is, as of today CPU rendering is the standard for most of the big engines. This year they partially announced they are going to extend their products for GPU rendering as well.

All these talks will take place a day or two after the "Special Event" with CEO and Founder Jensen Huang where I would expect more details about RTX to be unveiled.

Abgesehen davon, steckt RayTracing noch in den Kinderschuhen, es wird nur in Verbindung mit Gimpworks funktionieren, und das umzusetzen ist eh schon schlimm genug.
RayTracing wird erst in 2-3 Generation ordentlich funktionieren, von den kastrierten Chips fang ich gar nicht erst an.

Wenn das stimmen sollte, bin ich nicht begeistert...
Die 2050 ist dann das beste am gesamten neuen LineUp. 2060 27% schneller wie ne 1060 ? dafür nur noch 5 GB Speicher ? 2080 nur 50% schneller wie ne 1080 und dann zum Preis einer 1080ti welche vermutlich ziemlich nah an der Leistung ist ? Die Titan braucht man gar nicht ansprechen bei dem Preis. 2070 und 2050 hingegen sehen ziemlich nett aus. 40 % bzw. 50% mehr Leistung zum Preis den die Vorgängergeneration auch hatte ? Schön. Auch wenn ich die Speichermengen für komisch halte.
