Xp lässt sich nicht mehr updaten

Hallo,
ich war jetzt 2 Monate nicht online wegen Probleme mit meinem DSL Anbieter und jetzt lässt sich XP nicht mehr updaten.
Folgende Fehlermeldung erscheint:
Von Microsoft Update benötigte Dateien sind nicht mehr auf Ihrem Computer registriert oder installiert. Gehen Sie folgendermaßen vor:
Erforderliche Dateien jetzt registrieren oder neu installieren (empfohlen)

wenn ich das anklicke läuft irgendwas im Hintergrund ab und dann lande ich wieder genau hier:

? Systemsteuerung, ja. Verwaltung finde ich dort nicht , sosehr ich auch danach suche.

Wirf mal einen Blick in die WindowsUpdate.log im Windows-Verzeichnis (vorzugsweise am Ende des Files) und such nach Fehlern (failed z.B.). Ein Blick ins Ereignisprotokoll kann sicher auch nicht schaden.
