News Betrug mit Seagate-Festplatten: Händler verkaufen gebrauchte HDDs als Neuware

@Snoopy69 Ach wie schön das wäre, wenn mal eine SN auf ner Rechnung stehen würde. Habe grade geschaut und war nicht überrascht keine zu sehen.
Ich werde da morgen früh direkt mal anrufen und nachfragen, einen Austausch brauche ich eigentlich garnicht anfragen, die Chance wieder so ein Neu nciht so Neu Produkt zu bekommen ist ja nicht so gering. Mal sehen was die sagen.
Tatsächlich stelle ich mir jetzt eher die Frage, wo einen Ersatz herbekommen, der wirklich Neu ist und korrekte Garantie hat.. Laut dem Artikel von Computerbase sind glaube ich Platten von Amazon, Reichelt und eben noch Galaxus betroffen. Bleiben als offizielle Partner von Seagate noch Alternate und Cyberport.
Bei Cyberport wird die offizielle 5 Jahre Warranty zumindest als Produktbild mit angegeben. Bei Alternate fehlt genau dieses offizielle Produktbild, über die Garantie wird schriftlich aber in beiden Fällen kein Wort verloren. Laut Artikelbeschreibung bei beiden kein OEM Artikel, also schonmal bessere Chancen auf ein tatsächliches Neu Produkt :D
Allerdings schreibt bei Alternate etwa ein Kunde von 2024, trotz fehlender Ausweisung ein OEM Produkt geliefert bekommen zu haben. Trust Issues?
Was denkt ihr? Cyberport & tiefer in die Tasche greifen - Alternate bisschen ungutes Gefühl? Vielleicht habt ihr ja sonst noch vertrauenswürdige Händler die ihr mir empfehlen könnt
 
Nachdem was man in den letzten Monaten so an stories auf den Verkaufsplattformen, auch mydealz etc gesehen hat, würde es mich wundern, wenn die Zahl der Kunden die sich aus dem Stehgreif beschweren könnten, nicht bei 500 oder 5000 liegen würde.

Da ist meine EXOS X20 - 20TB her, aber wie geschrieben, sind die Betriebsstunden in SMART und FARM identisch. Und ich vertraue mal meiner "Quelle", dass FARM zu resetten, ausschliesslich nur Seagate beherrscht. Oder warum sonst macht man sich den Aufwand ein anderes Label aufzutragen und das Chassis zu lasern und lässt FARM nicht einfach stehen, wenn "recertified"? Dann könnte man ja gleich das "richtige" ("echte") Label auf eine "recertified" oder "refurbed" HDD auftragen und die Laserung einfach weglassen. Die Vermutung von @Amaoto macht daher wenig Sinn

@Snoopy69 also ich hab meinen Rechner eben nochmal aufgemacht, der Kleber auf meiner Platte sieht so aus wie er aussehen soll, siehe Bild. Kein grüner Rand wie bei den refurbished Platten, hab sie jetzt aber nicht nochmal ausgebaut.
Aber als sie ankam sah sie gut aus, hab jetzt keine eindeutigen Kratzer oder Gebrauchsspuren gesehen, obwohl es ja auch ne interne ist, die wandert ja nicht gerade im Rucksack umher. Verpackt was sie halt einfach in so einer Folie, da ich keine Probleme erwartet hab hab ich mir leider nicht eingeprägt was auf der Verpackung abgedruckt war.. Wie gesagt es hat an sich alles einen ordentlichen Eindruck gemacht. Wenn ich die FARM Daten nicht gecheckt hätte hätte ich ja auch keinen Anlass da was zu vermuten. Aber wenn mans weiß kommt man sich ja einfach für dumm verkauft vor. Und keiner weiß wo und wie die Platte gelaufen ist und wie sie die nächsten Jahre halten wird.
Ich denke ich werde bisschen tiefer in die Tasche greifen, gleich ne Nummer neuer und mehr und auch die X20 20TB bei cyberport bestellen. 🤷‍♀️

@SH4DOWtheFOX ja ich hab da eigentlich auch noch nie was negatives gehabt, mein alter Rechner war auch von Mindfactory.. aber habe grade nochmal nachgeschaut, auch Mindfactory steht auf der Liste. Aber Wie vorhin jemand geschrieben hat.. die Dunkelziffer ist wahrscheinlich noch viel höher und es ist eher eine Glückssache was man bekommt.
Wahrscheinlich in Zukunft wie beim online Klamotten kaufen - mehrere Bestellen - SN und Betriebsstunden prüfen und zürück was nicht passt.. lächerlich -.-

Ich habe vor 2 Wochen eine Seagate Exos 8 TB bei Mindfactory gekauft, habe mal die Daten ausgelesen bin mir aber nicht ganz sicher, zumindest stimmen die Power On Hours mit Crystal Disk Info überein:

Das Herstellungsdatum ist seltsam, YYWW 4262 ergibt laut Rechner irgendwas in der Zukunft und die Serial Number ergibt bei Seagate das selbe Ergebniswie bei @IchiBrain , "wurde als Teil eines größeren Systems erworben, bitte wenden sie sich an den Systemhersteller oder Händler bei dem sie das Produkt erworben haben".

@Akhenabi ok wow das mit deinem assembly date ist ja wirklich sehr weird.. jetzt ist die frage ob es da einen Auslesefehler gibt oder das Format doch irgendwie anders zu interpretieren ist :'D Irgendwas stimmt da nicht..
aber das hab ich vorhin ganz aus den Augen verloren.. ich hab mir grade mein Assembly Date mal angeschaut.

Was soll mir das jetzt genau sagen? das wäre 2012 gewesen!? Da sind unsere Platten wohl durch die Zeit gereist..
 
Es gibt Seagate "Factory Recertified" HDDs, die allerdings, so man von einem ehrlichen Anbieter kauft, klar als solche gekennzeichnet und auch deutlich billiger als echte Neuware sind. Andernfalls ist es schlicht und ergreifend Betrug.

Das war vor einigen Jahren in der Tat so; Seagate hatte richtige Probleme mit der Qualitätskontrolle, und ich hab die HDDs von denen auch gemieden. Allerdings ist das jetzt nicht mehr so. Siehe auch die Ausfallraten in den Statistiken von Backblaze.

Dann sollen sie es aber mehr wie 1-10 Euro billiger machen :D

Festplatten sind eh viel zu teuer und dann kauf ich eben lieber den Marktführer... wenn ich den Anbieter wechseln soll dann sollen die was bieten, selbst bei Strom würde ich wegen 1-2% nicht wechseln.

Also das ist alles etwas zu hoch für meine normalen Computer bezogenen Gedankengänge..
Ich versteh dich aber, wie gesagt, ich hab aktuell auch nur die eine Exos verbaut. Wie wichtig das Assemble Date in deinem Fall jetzt ist kann ich nicht beurteilen, zumindest hat deine zueinander passende Betriebsstunden, sie ist also nicht schon vorab irgendwo 3 Jahre gelaufen. Das würde mich beruhigen :P
 
Entweder haben die internen Prüf- und Qualitätskontrollen der betroffenen Händler versagt oder sie wussten davon und haben bewusst gebrauchte Festplatten als neue verkauft.
Ich gehe eher von ersterem aus, denn kein Händler kann es sich leisten, seine Kunden zu betrügen, jedenfalls kein seriöser.
Wenn das auffliegt, ist das mehr als geschäftsschädigend!
Amazon müsste den ganzen Schrott, der teilweise auf dieser Online-Plattform angeboten wird, auslisten.
Lieber weniger Angebot, dafür vertrauenswürdig, qualitativ hochwertig und nachhaltig.
 
Vielleicht mehr Off-Topic aber ich sehe primär und allgemein eine Nachbesserung im Gesetz. Laut diversen jurist. Interpretationen ist gesetzlich nicht eindeutig definitiert, wann eine Ware neu und wann sie gebraucht ist. Diese grau Zone machen sich wohl viele bewusst / unbewusst zum nutzen (?).

Meine Erfahrung: 50% der Mainboards definitiv Versandrückläufer als neu erhalten - unterschiedl. Güte (Staub, Kratzer, fehlendes Zubehör, ...), Grafikkarten (Fehlendes Herstellersiegel, Schutzfolie fehlte, Kratzer) und PSU (Corsair: Folie fehlte, Kabel unvollständig, Kratzer). Benannte Mängel bei den "Big Playern" der PC Landschaft.

Zurück zum Thema: Hier sollte die Lage ja Eindeutig sein, bzgl. Laufwerkswerte. Zufall oder ein Fehler eines Einzelnen RMAs kann es nicht mehr sein. Die Frage ist, wie groß das Interesse der Öffentlichkeit ist. Wenn es ein Mainstream Artikel (gängige Handyserie, Autombil) wäre, wäre es ggfs. "leichter" ...

Ich bin aber kein Jurist und hoffe, dass die Geschädigten (ihr) eine schnelle sowie befriedigende Klärung erhaltet.

Wobei man dann auch Rausfiltern muss welche Personen nicht drauf geachtet haben recertified hdds gekauft zu haben , im Rausch des schnappers das gegebenfals übersehen habe

Hätte ich damals machen sollen, aber die Platten gingen ohnehin zurück, in dem Fall wären es aber Western Digital, nicht Seagate
