"Hey folks!
First of all, we would like to thank you for your still ongoing and amazing support! The 5th week has passed now and today we've a lot of new informations for you guys:
Server / Script Test Application
With today's development blog we're going to release a script test application, which is based on our actual server. This is a single release which means we'll only release this version(well we're still going to release hotfixes if there are problems) before the official 1.0 launch! We've disabled some stuff which is not needed at the moment. You're able to develop your scripts and plugins. For plugin development please take a look at our example SDK . As a lot of you asked for support of additional scripting languages such as Squirrel and LUA, you're now able to integrate them via plugins. As it requires good C++ skills and some time to implement additional scripting languages, we ask you to contact XForce if you're a good C++ developer and you want to develop a plugin for addition languages. We'll only support LUA and Squirrel plugin developments for the time now, as we need time to look into other script languages designs and code basis.
For those who ask if we might support PAWN, we're able to tell you no. Our Scripting system design and code basis do not allow us to support PAWN. Also PAWN is an outdated scripting languages.
If you create plugins and want to share them, please create your public repository on
https://development.crix-dev.com as our whole project and other plugins will be public available there after the 1.0 release. Additionally we'll probably release the masterlist plugin in the next upcoming week.
Wiki
As you're now able to develop plugins and scripts, a lot of you might ask how to take usage of our implemented scripting functions/elements. A lot of you might know that our wiki isn't filled with lot of informations about scripting yet. We're currently doing a redesign of wiki which will bring new structure and better overview to you. We're currently searching for wiki contributers, feel free to apply at
global@mail.gta-mp.net. After the redesign, which should be done within 1 week, we'll start to add a lot of new content!
Client, Video
A lot of you guys might have expected a video today as we said that we were planning to release a video between 5-15th may. Unfortunatelly, we have not finished our sync yet, as some parts still need to be optimized. As many of you guys know, we're working every day on GTA:MP as much as we can, this also includes reverse engineering. GTA V has a lot of new features, which means a lot of work for us. We've planned to release a better sync (onfoot) than GTA:O in our first version which means we have to rewrite the interpolation, task sync, ped data sync etc., simply everything which contains sync. This means we have to reverse engineer a lot of stuff in order to improve / build a better synchronization than GTA:Online.
Back in april, we already told you that we're not going to show or release any unfinished/broken/in development parts of GTA:MP, as we want to give you guys the best outcome we can produce. Of course we'd be able todo PreRelease, Alpha, Beta, Release Candiate, Testing versioning stuff, but we're not going to, we still want to keep this project professional, no matter how long it takes. When we're able to test everything, we'll test it with our beta testers so you do not have to worry or bother about issues / problems which can occur before the 1.0 release. We're probably going to set nightlies for public audience available in the near future, but that's just an idea, which means we're not sure about it at the moment.
As we still want to you guys a video, we decided to visualize the development of the Scripting module, let the magic begin:
