This new ASRock J5040-ITX passive board welds the
Intel Pentium Silver J5040 Quad Core processor that works between 2 and 3.2 GHz, an increase over the previous J5005 model that worked between 1.5 and 2.8 GHz with a consumption that remains at 10 W TPD. In the graphics section we have the
Intel UHD Graphics 605 GPU that goes up to 800 MHz and has 18EU with hardware decoding support for the HVEC and VP9 codec at 10 bit color but not for HDR. For RAM, we have support for
up to 8 GB of DDR4 RAM with speeds of 2400 MHz working in Dual Channel.
Other specifications
The new
ASRock J5040-ITX has triple monitor support with
HDMI 2.0 4K@60fps connectors with
HDCP, DVI and VGA. As for connections we have four SATA 3 ports, an
M.2 slot for the Wi-Fi module, Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe 2.0 1x slot, audio jack 7.1 and optical audio output, we have two USB 2.0 ports and as a novelty another two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports with transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps. In the graphics BIOS we have extensive support for remote power, ACPI 5.0 protocol and overload protection circuits.
