The basis of the Firefox security sandbox model is that web content is loaded in "Content process", separate from the trusted Firefox code which runs in the "Chrome process" (also called the "parent" process). Content processes execute in a sandbox which limits the system privileges so that if a malicious web page manages exploits a vulnerability to execute arbitrary code it will be unable to compromise the underlying OS.

Ich bin mit meinem Firefox zurück auf die 84.0.1 und hab damit die Freezes beim Start nicht mehr. Leider haben sie das mit 85.0.1 nicht behoben.

Die seit mehreren Tage einzig stabile Lösung Firefox zu starten kommt von @Orbas und lautet:
Firefox mit Seitenaufruf starten. Damit konnte ich seit mehreren Tagen Firefox stabil starten.

z.B. mit dieser Verknüpfung:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" www.computerbase.de

Ich habe die Image vom 24.02.21 hergenommen und mit FF 84.0.2 läuft alles bestens!

Es gibt im Bugzilla auch einen Thread für dieses Problem. Ist wohl Plattformübergreifend, Windows, Linux und Mac.

Auch dort wird als Workaround angegeben: starten mit Link zu Seite.
