"I couldn't count how many times I've had people come at me saying there's no way I'm getting the performance I do, even when I provide screenshots.
Every time I get one of those people I invite them to the Discord server (link at the top of this sub), to come into the sim and PC hardware room (I'm one of the specialists there), where we troubleshoot, tweak, and recommend upgrades and builds day in and day out.
Some people don't have their systems set up properly. Poor cooling, old thermal paste, don't have XMP set, running single channel RAM, using outdated drivers, have a bloated OS, have tons of unnecessary stuff running in the background chewing up a ton of RAM and so many other things.
SC favors AMD hardware especially.
To me, someone who works on performance issues daily and knows what kind of results can be had, your performance isn't anything out of the ordinary at all.
The big problem with Nvidia, is poor price to performance these days.
You can get more for less going AMD. But many people are still on the idea that Nvidia is the only brand to go with if you want pure power. So they buy their overpriced card, get the performance they get, think that's as good as it gets, and then doesn't believe it when someone using "inferior" hardware gets better performance. It's ignorance, plain and simple. The good thing is ignorance can be fixed, if they're willing. But that mindset is prevalent, and that mindset is the reason why Nvidia is so expensive these days.
In the hardware room where the specialists tend to stay, the people who actually know hardware and keep up with current tech, AMD is the go-to that we recommend these days.
Same goes for Intel, though that is rare, as there is almost no reason to go with Intel these days for the average user. We don't do brand loyalty in there, there is no red vs green or red vs blue, it's who has the better performance. And right now, it's AMD. If that changes tomorrow, then we'll start recommending something else. Sadly that anti-AMD mindset is common."
